Tips to Limit Back Pain While Working On A Computer
Having your work desk correctly set up is extremely important for workers who spend large parts of their day at a desk.
Try implementing these simply steps to limit additional pressure put on your back during the working day.
1. Adjust your chair to ensure it is the correct height for your desk.
2. Make sure your computer monitor is at eye level and at a distance that does not strain your eyes.
3. Take frequent breaks to get up and move around.
4. Keep your feet flat on the floor and your knees at a 90–degree angle.
5. Place a cushion or lumbar support behind your lower back when sitting.
6. Avoid sitting in the same position for long periods of time.
7. Use a headset when on the phone for long periods.
8. Ensure your arms are in a comfortable position on the armrests.
9. Exercise regularly to keep your core and back muscles strong.
10. Stretch your arms, shoulders, neck, and back regularly throughout the day.
